Reality: Although Java offers new development opportunities for web, it is not limited to it. Java can be run on desktop applications too. This can be done by installing JVM from vendors like Sun or Microsoft. It is very easy to run Java for desktop applications similar to Microsoft Word.

the same sort of case happen with Google chrome which is not fully support to java script.

To some extent, i agree with what  safi  have said. In proper words, Java applets available to the users in the form of Java Byte codes can run in a Web browser using a Java Virtual Machine, or in Sun's AppletViewer which is a stand-alone tool for testing applets.
