Sort on all records - not just paged records

Dear friends,

why does Sort work only on the records shown by the Paging?

i have 100 records and paging shows 20 each time. if i say sort, it is sorted only for those 20 records..

i think it should sort from all 100.

is there a way to do this?

please help.
